“Eight Apostles” (c. 1514). Raphael left few paintings. A drawing or print under his name is often a study, a workshop sheet, or a later print after a picture of his.
About the artist
Raphael, Raffaello Sanzio (1483–1520), was a painter of the High Renaissance. His madonnas and the Vatican rooms are the famous works. Many sheets in print rooms are drawings or later prints after him, not the paintings.
